Mission

The mission of The AFYA Foundation for Children’s Health, Inc. (The AFYA Foundation), a 501 (c) (3) organization, is to improve the health and social condition of children through research, program development, community coordination, and philanthropy.

Vision

The AFYA Foundation's vision is a world where all children, regardless of the circumstances into which they are born, are given an equal opportunity to develop into healthy, economically viable adults.

Its purpose is to replicate successful programs in communities that need them.  The AFYA Foundation takes a five prong approach to community intervention: 

1) define the problem;
2) identify programs that work;
3) tailor the programs to the community;
4) implement the programs; and
5) evaluate the programs' effectiveness.
